Custom beams, built-ins, trim and finish carpentry, cut and fitted on site by hand, by carpenters who have been doing it for 25 years.
Carpentry is where VIP Homes started, and it is still the part of the job we enjoy most. Exposed beam work, a wine cellar, a wall of built-ins, a stair with open treads: this is the work people notice when they walk into a finished house.
Our own carpenters do this work rather than a subcontracted finishing crew. That means the person cutting your trim is the same person who framed the wall it lands on, and knows exactly why it sits where it does.
Ordered millwork arrives at a standard size and gets scribed in as best it can. Cutting and fitting on site means the piece is made for the space it lands in, out of square walls and all. It takes longer and it is the reason the finish work in our homes sits tight years later.
Yes. We regularly take on standalone carpentry and millwork, whether that is a set of built-ins, a mantel and surround, or a full wine cellar.
In most cases yes. We can mill profiles to match what is already there so new work reads as original rather than obviously new.
Yes, it is some of our favourite work. Exposed beams, timber posts and heavy soffit detail feature throughout the homes in our gallery.
